After Cecilia Beaux - One of my favorite female painters

As a painter, 🧑‍🎨I loved recreating this little girl’s soft expression and dark eyes after Cecilia Beaux’s Portrait of a Little Girl. In my version I descided to leave the fluttery brushstrokes of the imprimatura evident for the viewer to experience.

After Cecilia Beaux - “Twilight Confidences” (Detail)

This portrait in oil was created After Cecilia Beaux's double portrait en plein air. She would paint these sitters at twilight each day for 15 minutes capturing the fleeting light effects and repeated this process daily until the painting was complete.
